300 Series Turbo Selection Guide
Technical Information & Buying Guide
Pulsar 300 Series turbochargers provide a range of configurations for performance street, motorsport and custom turbo applications. Choosing the correct model requires more than selecting the largest available compressor. Engine capacity, power target, boost pressure, fuel, turbine housing and intended use all affect response and overall performance.
Before ordering, confirm the bearing type, compressor and turbine wheel combination, turbine housing inlet and outlet, A/R ratio and installation requirements. The turbocharger should also be matched with suitable oil supply, drainage, cooling and boost-control components.
- Match turbo size to engine capacity and realistic power goals
- Confirm bearing type, turbine housing size and flange configuration
- Allow for suitable fuel, exhaust, intercooling and engine managemen
FAQ
- What applications suit a 300 Series turbocharger?
The collection includes options for a range of street, track and custom performance builds. Suitability depends on the individual turbo specification and engine combination.
- Should I choose journal bearing or dual ball bearing?
Both can provide reliable performance when correctly installed. Dual ball bearing models may offer improved transient response, while journal-bearing models can provide a cost-effective option for suitable applications.
- Does a larger 300 Series turbo always make more power?
Not necessarily. A larger turbo may support greater airflow but can also alter boost response. Select the model around the complete engine setup rather than compressor size alone.
