A turbo oil filter is used in selected oil-feed systems to help capture contamination before oil reaches the turbocharger bearing assembly. It should be treated as part of a correctly designed lubrication system, not as a substitute for clean engine oil, correct pressure or regular servicing.
Filter type, thread, fitting size and flow suitability must match the oil-feed arrangement. An unsuitable or restricted filter can reduce oil supply, while incorrect installation may create leaks. Follow the turbocharger and engine builder’s oil-feed recommendations, particularly where a restrictor is required.
