400 Series Turbo Selection Guide
Technical Information & Buying Guide
Pulsar 400 Series turbochargers and components are intended for large-frame, high-airflow applications where substantial power capability is required. The collection includes multiple compressor and turbine wheel combinations, making correct sizing particularly important.
Engine displacement, RPM range, exhaust flow, boost target and intended use should be assessed before choosing a 400 Series configuration. Installation may require a suitably sized manifold, external wastegate system, oil lines, intercooler, exhaust and adequate engine-bay clearance. These are not universal bolt-on turbochargers.
- Select compressor and turbine dimensions around the complete engine setup
- Confirm turbine housing, flange, outlet and rotation requirements
- Plan supporting fuel, exhaust, cooling and boost-control systems
FAQ
- Who is the 400 Series designed for?
The range is generally suited to high-output engines and custom installations requiring more airflow than a smaller-frame turbo can provide.
- Will a 400 Series turbo fit my existing manifold?
Fitment depends on the selected turbine housing flange, turbo orientation and available space. Check every connection and dimension before ordering.
- Is the largest 400 Series option the best choice?
No. Oversizing can reduce response and move useful boost higher in the RPM range. Compressor flow should be matched to the engine’s realistic airflow requirement.
